Employing a contractor offers your business flexibility and expertise to deliver projects on time, fill skill gaps, and manage workloads effectively. Contractors help you meet critical demands, manage costs, and maintain continuity by quickly scaling your workforce and backfilling essential roles. This approach allows you to strategically grow without long-term commitments.

Hiring contractors offers several advantages, including the ability to scale your workforce up or down based on project needs and the opportunity to bring in experts for specific tasks or projects without a long-term commitment.

Another advantage is that we manage all aspects of the engagement including sourcing the contractor, hiring, payroll, superannuation, insurances, work health and safety and ongoing administration.

Roles that require specialised expertise, have a clear start and end date, or are project-based are particularly suited to contractors. This includes positions in IT, marketing, communications, engineering, and project management.

A contractor is typically hired for a specific project or period, offering flexibility to both the contractor and the business. Contractors do not receive the same benefits as permanent employees, such as paid leave or superannuation.

Our dedicated contractor support team works alongside you and our team of consultants. Contractor support programs are designed to assist clients and contractors by maintaining visibility and awareness of the operations, environment and changes within your organisation.

Regular and planned contractor care check-ins ensure the experience for both you and your contractor is best in class.

The pay rate for a contractor is determined based on several factors, including the complexity of the role, the contractor’s level of experience, industry standards, and the length of the contract.

Contractors are typically paid an hourly or daily rate including a casual 25% loading and statutory superannuation.

On-costs include payroll taxation, workers compensation, public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

The service fee includes the recruitment process, engagement onboarding and payroll management of the contractor.

GWG Recruitment works with both the client and the contractor to agree on a rate.
